Sutton at Hone is a village, parish and railways station on the North Kent line, 3 miles from Dartford and 7 miles south west from Gravesend, and 18 from London.
The church of St. John the Baptist has been thoroughly repaired. The register dates from 1600. The living (Rev John Hotham was the incumbent) had an annual value of £519. The size of the parish is 3,587 acres.
Thomas Fleet is lord of the manor of St John Jerusalem and Mrs Fleet is lady of the Sutton manor.
The population of the whole parish in the 1861 census was 1,563.
Post Office – Mrs Susannah Morgan Sydell, receiver. Letters arrive through Dartford at 7am and 2.15pm, and are dispatched at 11.15am and 7pm. The nearest Money Order Office is at Farningham.
