Sutton at Hone is a village, 3 miles from Dartford and 7 miles south west from Gravesend. The population in 1851 was 1290.
The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The living is a vicarage; the Rev. John Hotham is the incumbent. Clement Street is half a mile west; Goss Hill, one mile west; Malthouse, one mile and a half west; Giltom Hill, on mile west; Swanley, 2 miles S.W.; Holmfield, half a mile SW; St John’s, a quarter of a mile east. Burnt House, have a mile NW; Rookery one mile north.
Post Office – Mrs Susannah Squire, Postmistress. Letters arrive through Dartford, which is also the nearest Money Order Office.
